212-MILE YARD SALE CULMINATES IN GOLDEN ISLES, MARCH 13
The sixth annual Peaches to the Beaches Yard Sale will be held March 12-13, 2010, along U.S. Highway 341, the Golden Isles Parkway in Georgia. This 212-mile yard sale links peach-growing counties in middle Georgia to the beaches of Georgia's Golden Isles, with community sites and individual sales along the way. In Brunswick, the official Peaches to the Beaches event is organized locally by Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA) in cooperation with The Brunswick Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and the Golden Isles Parkway Association. It will take place on Saturday only, March 13, at Mary Ross Waterfront Park from 8am to 5pm. The Jekyll Island Convention Center will also host a sale location on both Friday and Saturday, March 12 & 13.
This is a great opportunity to clean out those closets and attics and make a little money in the process. This is also a great fundraising opportunity for local organizations, as this event attracts visitors from all over Georgia and North Florida. All advertising for the event is provided by the Peaches to the Beaches organizers and the cost for a vendor space at the park is only $30. In addition to the yard sale, there will be food vendors and antique dealers, so there's sure to be something for every type of shopper, collector and yard sale-er. The deadline for signing up for a vendor space in Brunswick is March 5.
Other participating communities include Culloden, Roberta, Fort Valley, Perry, Hawkinsville, Eastman, Helena, McRae, Lumber City, Hazelhurst, Graham, Baxley, Surrency, Odum, Jesup, Brunswick, and Jekyll Island.
